EnSafe's Associate Principal Ric Federico, PG, will be at the 19th Annual Kentucky Environmental Conference March 25-26 to deliver insights on both an approach to comprehensive risk management as well as a practicioner's guide to PFAS sampling design.
From Commodity Product to Proactive Risk Management: Exploring the Continuum of Environmental Assessment Issues
Our focus in this session will be on the big-picture aspects of environmental assessment, risk management, and working within the context of a multi-disciplinary team to determine the appropriate level of investigation and response. We’ll touch briefly on forthcoming changes to the ASTM International Standard for conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, slated for 2021. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of how environmental issues can be addressed proactively in the context of a comprehensive risk management approach.
A Practicioner's Guide to PFAS
As an emerging contaminant, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) continues to dominate the environmental industry and has been the focus of increasing regulatory attention. In the absence of federal leadership, multiple states have developed various guidance documents to ensure PFAS data quality is not compromised by its ubiquitous presence in common items. This presentation will summarize the current regulatory landscape, synthesize current guidance documents, and focus on the lessons learned/best practices for sampling design to ensure project efficiency and desired outcomes.
