EnSafe is proud to congratulate Miles Ballogg, recipient of the 2026 Florida Brownfields Association (FBA) Willa Carson Award. The honor was presented on September 16th during the FBA Annual Conference in Tallahassee, Florida.
Miles was recognized for nearly 30 years of leadership advancing the Brownfields to Healthfields (B2H) movement in Florida and across the country. His work has helped communities use Brownfields resources to support seven Federally Qualified Health Centers, affordable and healthy housing, open and green space, water-quality improvements, and expanded access to fresh food.
The Willa Carson Award recognizes individuals whose work reflects the belief that Brownfields redevelopment can create lasting community benefits beyond environmental cleanup. In accepting the award, Miles spoke about the opportunity to address health disparities in underserved communities by repurposing underused or impacted properties for healthcare, housing, recreation, and other essential community needs.
“Receiving the Willa Carson Award is both humbling and personally meaningful. Willa Carson believed Brownfields redevelopment should do more than address environmental conditions; it should help create healthier, stronger, and more equitable communities. I am grateful to the Florida Brownfields Association and to the many community partners, clients, and colleagues who have made this work possible,” said Ballogg.
