With many stay-at-home orders lifting and businesses reopening, U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is asking employers to take the following six steps to reduce the risk of worker exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in their workplaces:
- Develop an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan
- Prepare to Implement Basic Infection Prevention Measures
- Develop Policies and Procedures for Prompt Identification and Isolation of Sick People, if Appropriate
- Develop, Implement, and Communicate about Workplace Flexibilities and Protections
- Implement Workplace Controls (engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices, and personal protective equipment [PPE])
- Follow existing OSHA Standards
