PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA) and EnSafe Inc. have come together to provide member utilities with a powerful Environmental Professional Certification Program tailored to the utility industry. This program equips utility industry professionals— particularly those in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), engineering, supervisory, and managerial roles—with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure environmental compliance and operational excellence. The curriculum emphasizes regulatory requirements, best practices, and practical tools for managing environmental responsibilities across utility operations.

TYPICAL CLASS STRUCTURE
Each class will be unique to the subjects; however, foundational content will include:
- Regulatory background and applicability to utilities
- Compliance triggers and how to apply them
- Best practices and compliance requirements
- Notification and reporting obligations
- Data gathering and effective documentation
- Required plans, procedures, and signatories
- Hands-on activities with actual regulatory forms

CORE CURRICULUM TOPICS
The certification is structured into five comprehensive courses (~7 hours each), addressing 12 key topics relevant to the utility industry. Participants gain hands-on experience using actual regulatory forms and receive EnSafe-developed resources, including best practice guides, fact sheets, templates, and web links.
