Ergonomics
Ergonomics is the study of how to "fit the job to the person." The purpose of ergonomics is to design systems wherein the workplace layout, methods, machines, and work environment are compatible with the physical and psychological capabilities of workers. Ergonomic services help clients reduce injury risk and improve productivity.

Surveying

EnSafe ergonomists observe operations in manufacturing plants, warehouse and distribution centers, and office environments to quickly identify "problem jobs" and associated ergonomic risk factors. Clients receive practical recommendations with effective, lowest cost alternatives, often accompanied by productivity improvements. EnSafe ergonomic surveys take an engineering approach aimed at eliminating problems, so we focus on solution development rather than costly analysis.

Job Analysis

Job-analysis services provide clients specific information about the tasks their employees perform. Data collection typically includes posture and force measurements, work pace and repetitiveness assessment, ergonomic risk factor analysis, and demands on perceptual and cognitive processing. EnSafe's simple ErgoTARGET job analysis tool also is available to enable clients to perform their own basic analysis with minimal training. Physical Demands Assessments performed by certified professional ergonomists document job requirements to aid job placement and return-to-work decision-making.

Research Studies

EnSafe offers clients the services of a Ph.D. ergonomist with years of practical experience. EnSafe can study very complex problems to provide an understanding of the interactions among many factors, and then develop elegant solution concepts that take full advantage of this advanced knowledge.

Design Assistance

EnSafe engineers work directly with client engineers or engineering service providers to ensure that designs of new equipment and processes minimize the risk of cumulative and acute trauma injuries and human errors, while maximizing productivity. EnSafe ergonomics engineers provide solution concepts, and even work with partners to develop prototypes.

Program Development & Support

EnSafe ergonomists have experience developing and leading both corporate and plant ergonomic processes. Whether clients need ergonomics team training, onsite hazard analysis and solution development, program development, team leader coaching, or process auditing, EnSafe meets those needs with experienced consultants who have actually "been there and done that."

Training

EnSafe consultants have provided ergonomics training to engineers, executives, supervisors/managers, team leaders, and office employees. Our courses feature hands-on demonstrations and case studies that help students grasp the concepts through interactive engagement and adult-learning techniques. Customized training courses target specific learning objectives of the audience, ranging from process oversight and management for executives, to technical design skills for engineers, to teaching techniques for team leaders

Workers Compensation

EnSafe has highly credentialed professionals on staff to assist clients in making tough decisions regarding the work relatedness of injuries and illnesses, and to provide counselors with technical assistance through investigation and analysis of disputed claims.
