Range Cleanups for U.S. Military
EnSafe properly and safely removed range-related debris (RRD) from two military ranges. The RRD for an Arizona range comprised jeeps, tanks, vehicles, drums, and other miscellaneous targets. In all, 38 target areas were identified for this project. At a range in Massachusetts, the RRD comprised armored personnel carriers, tanks, vehicles, drums, and other miscellaneous targets — 78 target areas in all.
Equipment was mobilized along cleared and demarcated routes. EnSafe used torches to cut the RRD into manageable sections to fit inside containers at the staging area. Then EnSafe used trackhoes with shear and/or grapple to load the scrap RRD. EnSafe then cleaned up each range area of all scrap pieces greater than 1 foot by 1 foot. Regrading was required for the Arizona work.
In each case, EnSafe met badging and on-base safety requirements and conducted a Daily Safety Tailgate meeting along with a Job Hazard Assessment using EnSafe’s Safe Work Assessment Permit system.
