Amy Spann Selected as Chair of ACEC Environment and Energy Committee
Amy Spann, Environmental Engineer in the EnSafe Nashville office, has been chosen to serve as Chair of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Environment and Energy Committee, beginning July 1, 2011.
The ACEC is a national federation devoted to promoting the business interests of approximately 5,600 engineering companies, including infrastructure funding, qualifications-based selection, outsourcing, tax reform, regulatory changes, and other government actions benefiting engineering companies.
In her role as committee chair, Amy will set the agenda and chair meetings with Tennessee Department of Environmental Conservation (TDEC), and respond to legislative and governmental agency questions related to environmental and energy issues. Committee chairs are selected by the President of ACEC, Tennessee Chapter, Mr. Mike Pohlman.
"I'm very excited to serve as chair of this very important committee, and I'm honored to have been selected," said Amy. "ACEC is a great organization that represents the interests of EnSafe and other engineering firms, and I hope to make a positive contribution to the great work they do for our industry."
"Mr. Pohlman chose Amy because of her experience on the committee and her interest and knowledge of legislative issues," said Candy Toler, Executive Director of ACEC, TN Chapter. "She was a great choice, and her leadership skills, expertise in the field, and enthusiasm will be a great asset to our organization and the Environment and Energy Committee.
ACEC of Tennessee was founded in 1968 and is a member organization of the ACEC. The statewide organization represents 110 engineering companies, with chapters in East Tennessee, Chattanooga, Nashville and Memphis.
