The workshop , sponsored by the China Occupational Safety and Health Association, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the National Institute of Occupational Health and Poison Control, and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention , brought together U.S. and Chinese experts to enhance and advance the basic concepts and practice of occupational health in China.
"Over the next several years, China will be one of the countries that the AIHA will concentrate its efforts on promoting the professional practice of industrial hygiene," Dr. Liu said.
"The Sino-U.S. Occupational Hygiene Forum represents the first formal event co-hosted by AIHA. The timing of this event is perfect as China just recently revised its Occupational Exposure Limit for Hazardous Agents in the Workplace. As a member of the EnSafe
family, I'm honored to present at this major groundbreaking forum for
the promotion of occupational safety and health in China."
Attendees included government officials, researchers, labor, and industrial environmental, health, and safety professionals and personnel.
