EnSafe Engineer Earns CP Credentials
Karen Heater, PE, an EnSafe Inc. engineer, has earned Certified Professional (CP) status under the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency's Voluntary Action Program (VAP). The VAP was created to encourage investigation, cleanup, and redevelopment of historically contaminated, underutilized properties, oftentimes in otherwise prime real estate development areas.

Ohio EPA operates a professional certification program to ensure that only environmental professionals with the appropriate qualifications and experience are licensed as certified professionals. As a CP and experienced engineer, Ms. Heater will be authorized to declare that a site has been cleaned up to acceptable levels for its intended reuse according to VAP standards.

Ms. Heater has more than 10 years' experience investigating and cleaning up contaminated properties and legacy sites. She has extensive experience in site assessment and remedial design and implementation for a wide array of contaminants. She holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Grove City College and is registered as a professional engineer in Ohio, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
