| EnSafe professionals act as if client sites are our own;
this means we are ever-sensitive to the ongoing and overall costs of
remedial actions. In acting first and foremost as advisers to our clients,
we look for opportunities to decrease costs and hasten progress to closure.
We begin with the end in mind, by applying sound site management
decision-making on the front end of a remediation project. We follow through
on this approach on the back end, by articulating positions backed by sound
science and gaining the approvals needed to achieve site closure.
A case in point: When EnSafe provided operation, maintenance, and
optimization services on a phase-separated hydrocarbon (PSH) removal system
at a large jet fuel storage facility, the client was using total fluids
removal pumps. The client considered connecting this system to a sanitary
sewer to reduce disposal costs. Since the sewer was more than 400 feet from
the system, this approach would have required significant effort to obtain a
discharge permit as well as capital investment for the connection. EnSafe
optimized the system by replacing the existing pumps with skimmer pumps and
putting the system on a timer. This approach resulted in an almost 100%
elimination of removed groundwater and maintained the high PSH removal rate.
EnSafe encourages its staff to view remediation projects from the
clients' perspective. This alignment with our government and industrial
customers assures repeat engagement and growth for EnSafe , much better for
both parties than prolonged and expensive O&M at remedial sites. |
